Jose Nieves (Rakim) and Kenny Vázquez (Ken-Y), both from Gurabo Puerto Rico with only 2 years of experience has turned into one of the most important duos in Reggaeton far surpass their competetion when they debuted on the album "Warriors 4" most of the established duos in Puerto Rico had begun to break up (eg, Héctor y Tito, Baby Rasta y Gringo and Karel y Voltio example).
Their debut song was not a big hit, but they quickly compared to the more famous at the time Zion y Lennox reference to the way that one of them has a good singing voice (Ken-y Zion) and the other raps (Rakim Lennox).
Their first label was the money machine, owned by veteran Notty Play where they also appeared on Ban2 Korrupto as released by their label, they were making more promiädanden as "The Noise Live" but still virtually unknown.

Both these songs had videos that gave them great exposure to people who had not seen what they looked like before.
Don Omar, a former member of Pina Records, now arguably one of the most famous people in the genre was at about to release a CD called "Los Bandoleros which was a compact executive produced by him (NOT musical produced) to help their friends to get more exposure, he invited all his former label mates from Pina Records to CD: Lito Polaco Nicky Jam and Rakim Ken-Y.
He was impressed by Ken-Y's voice and wanted a song with them The song is called "Si La Vez" was definitely turned Rakim Y Ken-Y to a mainstream duo, it was the biggest hit from the CD but it was not released as asingle.
Their song "Tu No Estas" from El proposal was chosen as the single and video for the show Rakim Y Ken-Y Arriving to New York to El suggestions by Raphy Pina.
Rakim is 27 years och Ken-Y, which is 21 now have one of, if not the most famous duo in Puerto Rico and the fans were happy when Raphy Pina announced their CD "Masterpiece" La Obra Maestra, things took a disservice if when someone broke into Pina Records studio and destroyed everything.
Finally after much anticipation and hard work were released Masterpiece Masterpiece debuted # 2 in Latin Billboards just behind Daddy Yankee's "Barrio Fino: En Directo.
